Art

two weeks ago i was challenged to create an image for two life long friends that incorporated one of their favorite movies, the last dinosaur. i had never seen the movie before, so justin (the commissioner of the piece) and i sat and watched it before i got started. i was moved by the film so much that justin gave me one of his bootlegged copies. this is masten thrust, hero of the movie and his trusted associate bunta. if you were wondering what bunta means, wonder no more. bunta = having one hundred wives and one thousand head of cattle. bunta is the man. in addition to having enough seed to go around for all of those hundred wives, he’s always carrying a machete in every scene of the movie. and whenever they take a rest, bunta can be seen honing the machete’s edge. forever prepared, bunta never hesitates in his mission to the most solid dude he can.

Bunta and Masten with the Polar Borer.

This is a character that I created for Studio Corrida last year.  I drew the character out and since I played the character in the video we shot, I guess it’s the most awesome self portrait I’ve ever done. Drawn on heavy watercolor paper, scanned and colored digitally.
